PACKAGING
Please expect all items to be packaged in very minimal used / recycled / secondhand paper bags or cardboard boxes. We try to minimize our carbon footprint where we can, when we can, and as much as we can, and refuse to procure new packaging materials for our products. Rule #1 of Zero Waste is REFUSE. All single-use packaging materials, no matter how compostable, take an inordinate amount of resources (e.g. water, fuel, electricity, trees, etc.) to manufacture. This is why we prefer to solicit used paper bags and boxes via Buhay Zero Waste Preloved, an online decluttering and dumpster-diving platform that we run. Our parcels don't always look pretty, but they have a much much smaller impact on the environment than most product packaging out there claiming to be "eco-friendly."
